Competitive Team DRESS CODE
Dance is a discipline. Having a dress code promotes unity and professionalism in the studio.
For your safety, no jewelry is to be worn in any dance class.
(watches, dangling earrings, bracelets, or ankle bracelets)
If students are not dressed appropriately they may not be allowed to participate in class.
Your class shoes will be specified when your costume is chosen in November.
They will either be ordered for you or you will be instructed as to what style and colour is required.
Prior to shoe specification please wear to class;
dance shoes of any color you already have
(ballet, jazz, hip hop, halfsoles, foot undies)
Dance socks such as Bloch, capezio or appolla shocks
or bare feet.
Runners for hip hop.
The exception to this is Tap.
Black Leather tap shoes will be the standard.
please no patten. Lace up, buckle or slip on.
Ballet, Lyrical, Acro and tech classes -
Please wear a body suit or fitted top with ballet shorts.
Boys can wear shorts and a t shirt/tank that can be tucked in.
Girls please wear Tights during these classes. Footless tights for Acro.
A small sheer wrap skirt or ballet shorts may be worn with bodysuit and tights.
NO over sized t-shirts, pants, etc.
Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop and Musical Theatre classes –
dress for these classes is more casual but must consist of dance clothing and tights. Yoga or workout styled clothes are also acceptable.
EX. Tiny tees, dance pants (made of lyrca or stretch cotton), bodysuits, tights, ballet shorts, wrap skirts, stretch shorts, tank tops.
NO denim, oversized shirts, pants, shorts, etc.
HAIR – Hair must be away from the face and neck.
All hair accessories must be secured.
SHOES
Jazz – Slip on or lace up. Recreational classes black or beige.
Tiny and Mini comp dancers wear beige/tan slip on jazz shoes please.
Tap – Black. Leather lace up, buckle or slip on.
Ballet – Pink ballet slippers. No ribbons.
Musical Theatre – jazz shoes
Lyrical – beige Half shoes.
Younger dancers may be instructed to use ballet slippers or beige jazz shoes.
Hip Hop - will be a pastry butter boot or tan work boot style shoe.
